As a VSO Volunteer, you might be tasked to train would-be entrepreneurs on marketing their products, or to share you management know-how with an NGO. But the lessons don't just flow one way -- with the experience you gain, imparting good business skills can be good for your own business, too. As Maridel Alberto, VSO Gender Adviser in Tanzania said, "While I bring my expertise and skills here, I will carry back with me valuable lessons learned when I return home. 'Sharing skills, changing lives, -- they work both ways, you know."

Eager to learn? We're looking for:

MANAGEMENT ADVISERS

With at least 5 years experience in any three of the following skills: management and organizational development, project management, financial systems management, facilitation and staff capacity building, M&E, reporting/documentation systems and partnership development.  You do not need to have a managerial position to qualify.

FUNDRAISERS/ RESOURCE MOBILIZERS/ PROGRAM MANAGERS with strong fundraising experience

With 3 years of experience in resource mobilization, fundraising, proposal writing, donor mapping, strategic planning, and revenue mobilization

ADVOCACY and COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALISTS

With 3 years of solid experience in training and in lobbying, policy analysis and research, developing promotional materials and developing the capacity of organizations. With knowledge of advocacy models, fundraising, campaigning, rights-based issues, policy analysis and development

IT PROFESSIONALS

With 3 years experience in database design and maintenance, network administration, web development. With experience as an instructor/ trainor.

SMALL BUSINESS ADVISERS

With at least 5 years experience running or developing a small business, strategic planning, understanding of business principles, and finance/ admin systems. Communications and facilitation skills are an asset.

M&E SPECIALISTS

With at least 5 years of experience in implementing a variety of monitoring and evaluation systems and indicators. With general strategic planning experience paired with excellent analytical and training skills

MICROFINANCE ADVISERS

With at least 5 years experience in creating public loan scheme and training community
